If you are looking for a place to camp, hike, play or just relax during any season, Bunker Hills is a popular option for families!

If you are looking for a place that will entertain multiple interests, this park has it all.  Located in Anoka county this is a 1600 acre park offering horseback riding, a golf course, a dog park, archery, a water park, and more. Bunker Hills Regional Park has opportunities for everyone! It's ideal to use the park for its full potential in summer but the park is open for recreational use all year long.

This is the perfect place to bring the family camping with a water park just steps outside your tent! It's also close enough to plenty of comforts with Riverdale Shopping Area just minutes from the park. Need a Target run because you just ran out of diapers? No problem!  This is an ideal place to bring your family camping if you want to be close to comfort yet still get a real camping experience.

We frequent the park for walks and enjoy using the paved trail. The paved trail system through the park brings an excellent opportunity for the whole family to walk, bike or scooter on. We love using the paved path for long walks with the stroller. There are some areas that you can go on dirt trails but the majority of this park has wide paved trails. The trail system can connect you to all types of other regional trails as well. We can't wait to go to the waterpark when our child is old enough to enjoy the water play!

Be sure to check out Cullen's Ice Cream Shop off Hanson Blvd just east of Bunker Hills Park. A locally-owned shop that even offers pup cups for the dogs!

Sarah and Andy Kermode live in Minneapolis, MN. They both grew up around the Twin Cities and are passionate about the outdoors. Exploring together and sharing that with others through photos, writing, and other creative outlets has been a hobby for the couple since meeting in 2015. Seeing the benefits of the outdoors firsthand has been a positive experience and want to share that message with as many people as possible. Their family grew in October 2020 with the birth of their son Rory. Becoming parents has opened new opportunities for exploring the outdoors. Getting out with their son and dog is a regular activity. They seek out family and dog-friendly trails wherever they go. Together, Sarah and Andy also work on their podcast "Hiking Thru Life" which is about the outdoors, Sarah hosts and Andy produces.
