With the best views of Downtown Boise and Treasure Valley, Camel's Back Park is the perfect spot for the whole family.

Camel's Back Park is quite close to downtown Boise, in a very beautiful neighborhood called Hyde Park. This is where the park stands, with many hiking trails, picnic areas, a handful of tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a huge playground, and an outdoor gym. One of the best perks about Camel's Back Park is it has access to many hiking trails that will take you to the best view of Boise within minutes. The direct path to hike up the hill is quite steep. It is a dirt trail halfway up and the remaining portion has steps with railings to hold on to and catch your breath, Don't forget to turn around as you are walking up to take in the view. The dirt portion of the path at the beginning is especially challenging if you are not wearing proper shoes, make sure everyone has closed-toe running or hiking shoes. There is a slightly easier route that is clearly marked to the east of the hill and has an easier gradient if one prefers to climb up or come down that way. The view from the top is really good and you can treat yourself to wonderful views of the downtown, including the Capitol building and the surrounding mountains from atop the hill. The playground is surrounded by huge gorgeous trees and my children love to climb to the top of them. On the backside of the hill, the kids will love climbing up and sliding down a sandhill. It's very fun for all ages.

We love to stop at Certified Bakery, a wonderful local restaurant in Hyde Park on the way to Camel's Back Park and Playground. They offer many incredible homemade sandwiches, wraps, salads, baked goods, yummy coffee drinks, and take-and-bake meals. They are known for their 52-year-old sourdough starter English muffins so any of the breakfast sandwiches are incredible. I love the Certified Breakfast sandwich, which is served all day, and the kids love the grilled cheese or Banana Sushi! Certified is open 8 am-4 pm daily and a great quick stop located on 13th Street right before getting to Camel's Back Park.

Hope you enjoy Camels Back Park as much as we do!
