Chrysalis is a great vineyard for a day date or outing with friends!

Chrysalis Vineyard & The AG District is located in Middleburg, Virginia one hour outside of Washington, D.C. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the mountains and vineyards while enjoying a glass of Norton, Virginia’s native grape. Proprietor Jennifer McCloud’s mission is to produce wines of such distinction that they stand solely on their own merits as world-class wines, without any further explanation. She feels strongly that Virginia Norton does just that. I love the Norton year-round, but the Viognier is a close second, especially in the summer.   

Outdoor seating is first-come, first-served, and limited indoor seating. No outside food or beverages are permitted, but a full food menu is available 7 days/week. We love the Dip Platter, BBQ Chicken pizza and the Caprese salad. 

Chrysalis is a beautiful spot for a fun weekend activity or special occasion. If you have kids, it’s also a great place for an afternoon with moms & kids (I’ve gone a couple of times with my girlfriends & kids) - you can make an entire day out of Chrysalis. With so much space, the kids can run around and enjoy the beautiful farmland. Bring a frisbee, soccer ball, and some bubbles.

If you want to make a full day out of it, head to downtown Middleburg, just 4.5 miles from Chrysalis Vineyards. Enjoy walking and shopping in and around downtown. If you’d rather dine at a restaurant, Middleburg has many wonderful options including, King Street Oyster Bar and The Red Fox Inn & Tavern.
