playground, outdoor-adventures, hikes

The Clay Madsen Center has a lot to offer to get your kiddos outside.

They have tons of classes and leagues available for registration. However, there is also lots of fun to be had if you just show up to play!  The area behind the center is home to the soccer field, skate park, playground, basketball court, and nature trail access.

As you enter the parking lot, the soccer field is to the right. To access the rest of the outdoor facilities keep driving to the back of the building for the parking lot right next to the playground.

The skate park is on the right-hand side of the parking lot. It is a great place for skate-loving kids to hang out with friends and do tricks on their skateboards. You can also bring in your bike or your longboard if you have one of those instead. There are different parts of the skate park such as half-pipes, quarter pipes, bowls, ramps, and stairs.

The other end of the parking lot is the basketball court that is open to the public. Kids can join a game or if the court is empty enjoy shooting baskets and practicing layups in their own time.

In the middle is the playground.  While it is not huge,  it has all the makings of a fabulous play space. The large structure has the typical climbing structures and slides.  One side of it is being held up by a big (fake) climbing rock. Kids will love pretending they are scaling a mountain to get to the top of the slide.

Finally,  if you have time for a little walk or live along the trail, there is direct access to the Greater Lake Creek Park and Trail.
