Croton Landing Park is a great place to ride bikes along the water and play.
Considered Croton Point Park’s little (less crowded) sister, Croton Landing is a lovely space to take the kids for a day of play on the Hudson River waterfront. You’ll find a basic play structure with swings that is perfect for entertaining little ones. There’s also a small beach to enjoy and build tiny sandcastles on. But the biggest highlight of Croton Landing Park is the paved pathway that leads to a September 11th Memorial — a sundial constructed out of a steel beam from the World Trade Centers.
Out and back is about two miles, and it’s great for stroller runs and bike rides. New riders should be aware though that the path can get crowded with cyclists during peak hours. Croton Landing's paved walkway is part of the 51-mile Westchester RiverWalk and connects directly to Croton Point. If you need to take a break from walking, or a relaxing place to watch the sunset, benches line the path.
Fishing is allowed at the park and is a popular pastime. And the open, green fields are perfect for soccer-playing, games of tag, or a picnic while taking in views of the river. Leashed dogs are welcome and restrooms, complete with baby changing tables, are available at the north end of the parking lot.
Craving some delicious food after your Croton Landing outing? Yuka’s Latin Fusion restaurant is less than ten minutes away (by car). With a lovely patio, a special kids menu for little ones 10 and under, and an extensive menu, Yuka’s has a meal everyone will enjoy. Kids eat free on Sundays, and they offer a daily happy hour.
