camping, hikes, swim

Located at the end of Dune Road in Westhampton Beach you will find Cupsogue Beach County Park. Seasonally Cupsogue Beach offers something to spark excitement in any adventurer.

During the summer, usually from Labor Day to Memorial Day, this beach park is bustling with beach goers, campers, fishers, and picnickers. During the off season you will find locals combing the beach for treasures, and local wildlife.

In the off season, or winter months, you can drive down to the parking lot and walk down the path on the bay side. During low tide you can often find seals. This is a pet-friendly area, but it is important to keep them on leashes to not disturb the wildlife, or get harmed themselves.  It is recommended to not let animals in the water near the seals, due to possible distemper on the part of the seals. However, you can stay to admire the seals laying on the sand bars and meander up and down the bay beach looking for beach treasures. If you are looking to adventure further, keep walking the path that will lead you to the ocean. You can walk back to your car via the ocean beach. It can get cold in the winter so bundle up, as the water makes it even chillier, but totally worth the walk.

During the season, Memorial Day to Labor Day, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM parking rates apply. However, you will find more amenities available. These include bathrooms, snacks, showers, and of course, warmer weather.  Bring towels, sunscreen, chairs and beach toys if you plan on spending the day at the ocean beach.  Or schedule a camping trip and spend a few days soaking in the salt air and sunshine.  Camping is available to book between April 1st to November 11th.  More information can be found on the website to obtain passes for your next beach adventure.
