Dyess Park has green space and a playground to enjoy all year long.

Located in the heart of Augusta, Dyess Park is a family favorite. The park features a playground, a walking trail, picnic areas, and a community building. There are basketball courts, a public swimming pool, a baseball field, tennis courts, and restrooms. The playground is popular because of its large play structure, swings, and zip line. The play structure is three stories tall with two large tube slides, smaller slides, climbing features, ladders, steps, and interactive play stations. To use the zip line, you sit down like a swing. The play area is filled in with mulch. There is a lack of shade, so that it can get pretty hot during the summer. However, you can cool off in the shade under the picnic shelter next to the play area.

The paved walking track goes around the playground area, baseball field, parking lot, and community building. It makes a nice loop suitable for pushing a stroller, walking, young bike riders, scooters, and ride-on toys. It's close enough to the playground that you could easily walk around while the kids played. The path also lacks shade, so it's hot during the summer; however, you can cool off in the community pool, which is open during the summer months.

The park hosts several community events throughout the year, such as the Heritage Festival, and the community building can be rented out for celebrations, birthdays, and gatherings.

Dyess Park is a great space to burn some energy and enjoy the day outside. Check it out for your next family outing.
