Eagan Central Park Splash Pad is the perfect 'free' summer activity to add to your summer bucket list.

This spot is kind of tricky to find if you aren't familiar with the area. It is directly across the parking lot from the Eagan Community Center building. A reasonably large brick structure houses bathrooms and a covered patio area with a large grassy field next to it.

It's up a tiny hill, a bit of a walk from the parking lot. Being further from the parking lot is a huge bonus to parents and caregivers who have littles that like to run off. The area is very sunny, so don't forget the sunscreen. There was some shade under one of the smaller pavilions and next to the building. Surrounding the splash pad were quite a few benches and a rock wall that parents were sitting on while the kids played and ran in the water. You can easily keep an eye on the kiddos from the benches or picnic tables under the smaller pavilion.

There's plenty of space to run around and grab a picnic table to have a snack or a little picnic lunch. The features here include water fountain type sprayers coming from the ground, buckets that fill and then dump water down to the ground, and water gun type sprayers that you can shoot at one another—typical splash pad activities. 

I recommend heading here for a late morning of fun and then grabbing some delicious pizza from Italian Pie Shoppe down the road to take home for lunch before nap time.
