Eagle Fern Park is one of our favorites for a good reason, with its location on a gorgeous creek surrounded by old-growth trees.

It is situated along a beautiful creek which is great year-round. In the spring and winter it’s great for throwing rocks and in the summer and fall it is great for the kids to wade around in.

There are more than four miles of trails split between smaller loops. Choose your own adventure depending on how long you want to walk. From the recent storms, one of the loops was impassable, but all the others are in good shape. The only stroller-accessible one is the ADA-trail which crosses a fun suspension bridge and follows numbers that correspond to an interpretive map. Along the ADA trail, a handful of creek access points are great for the kids.

Loop B is down the road from the main parking area and goes up some switchbacks and down another side. It's kid-friendly, but I wouldn’t bring a stroller and make sure the kids are okay with the uphill. Loop A is the longest and biggest elevation, good for older kids.

The playground is near the parking lot, and some flush toilets and reservable picnic areas. Continuing down the road, you’ll find more reservable sites along with first-come, first-serve picnic areas along the creek. All are tucked away and semi-private, making for a great afternoon spent playing in the water.

Warm summer weekends can get busy, so get there early, or our favorite is to go weekdays or before it gets warm. The park is beautiful in all seasons, even in the winter.

Dog friendly on leash, day use parking fee and cell service.

One of our favorite things to do is to find green spaces on the map and see what hidden gems we can discover! I hope to share some of these hidden gems with you.
