Take a break from the beach and step right into an immersive, hands-on wonderland at the Emerald Coast Science Center!

As soon as you walk in you will dscover that this museum is unlike any you have experienced before. The Emerald Coast Science Center is located in Ft. Walton Beach and is committed to serving children and families through STEAM programs and exhibits. Visitors can enjoy a variety of experiences situated inside the museum as well as outdoors under a canopy of live oaks.  

Inside the museum you’ll find an array of hands-on exhibits, puzzles, brain games, robotics and more. Kids young and old will find engaging activities of all types. See if you can create a bubble bigger and taller than you or dig for seashells in the sand using a robotic arm. Learn about marine life or operate an underwater camera. The center is also home to many Animal Ambassadors who help teach guests about native and invasive species. 

The outside space is an experience of its own. Visitors can experience an epic high-seas adventure aboard the Marine Exhibit. Grab some tools and try your hand at paleontology at the Dino Dig. Play a game of giant checkers under the trees and then swing from below the treehouse.  

Tables and bench seating are scattered throughout the outdoor play area so consider packing your family a picnic lunch. The center also offers various snacks and drinks for purchase and cash or major credit/debit cards are accepted. Onsite parking is plentiful and restrooms are conveniently located in the lobby. Visitors should plan to stay and play for a few hours.
