Get Your Comfy Walking Shoes on, and Let's Explore the Zoo!

Located just off of South University Drive, the Fort Worth Zoo is a family favorite. This large zoo has all of your favorite animals to view, interactive exhibits, seasonal activities, camps, programs, and volunteer opportunities. The zoo is divided up into several sections like the African Savanna, World of Primates, Elephant Springs, Raptor Canyon, MOLA, Australian Outback, and Texas Wild. You can pick up a zoo map at the entrance or download your map on your phone.

Attractions

Along with the animals, they have attractions like junior train conduction program, safari splash, and stingray cove. The safari splash is a 14,000 square-foot splash park with four slides, water dump tower, fill wall, animal-shaped canons, and toddler play area. This area is only open during the summer months and is an additional $5 with zoo admission. This is a perfect way to cool off during the summer.

Stingray cove is a great way to get up close and personal with stingrays and small sharks as you get to pet and feed the stingrays. This is only $4 for some interactive, up close, and personal fun! There is so much to see and do, so plan to spend most of the day here. The zoo also hosts seasonal events for Halloween, Christmas, New Years Eve, Beastro, Zoo run, and more.

Education

Fort Worth Zoo offers many educational programs including virtual programs, camps, field trips, homework help, overnights, and homeschool opportunities. The zoo also offers educational camps during the fall, winter, and summer. During the school year, they also offer homeschool classes for ages 6 to 12. Each class will incorporate science and art into the lesson plan and will also include a visit from an animal friend! They "believe that connecting children to nature through outdoor play and interactive experiences is the key to making future leaders in conservation" - Fort Worth Zoo.

The Fort Worth Zoo is a great family outing and one that you will come back to time and time again. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram @fortworthzoo for all the latest updates and fun at the zoo. There are many ways you can support the zoo as well through animal adoptions, birthday buddies, classroom adoption, and holiday adoption. This is a unique way to give a gift and support the evergoing conservation efforts the zoo makes.

This is a zoo I personally grew up coming to and now bring my children. It reminds me of fond memories, and we love the new memories we get to create. We hope you make some long-lasting memories here as well!
