Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is appropriately named, as it transports you into a world that seems heavenly!
Garden of the Gods is a registered National Natural Landmark with gorgeous views of unique red rock formations surrounded by lush greenery. There are 15 marked hiking trails to choose from, all varying in difficulty and length. Choose from an easy 20-minute hike to a 4-mile challenge. Whatever hike you decide on, there is always a worthy payoff at the end. We recommend heading to the Visitors Center to pick up a physical copy of their trail maps that show the hikes and their level of difficulty. The Visitors Center is also home to a brand new world-class Geo-Trekker theater that shows an immersive and exciting video every 20 minutes that explains how the Garden of the Gods came to be.
There are several different ways to explore the park. You can opt for the traditional stroll or hiking options, or rent bikes for a fun family biking experience. They also offer jeep and segway tours, guided nature walks, or even e-bike rentals. If you enjoy rock climbing, there is an option to book a spot through the visitors center to join their front-range climbing trips.
Hungry after sightseeing? If you would rather dine-in than pack a picnic, check out their cafe with a glass-enclosed patio that offers breathtaking and picturesque views. This is a great spot to see a full view of the rock formations and Pikes Peak.
Be sure to look at the events calendar on their website before making your trip, as Garden of the Gods often hosts 5k runs, starlight bike rides, special Earth Day events, and even a Bighorn Sheep Day!
Admission is free and parking is available near all entrances and by the visitors center. Hours of the park vary by season, but the park is open year-round.
If you are in the area and considering making the drive, Garden of the Gods is absolutely worth the visit.
