West Linn has great parks, and Hammerle Park is no exception.
Hammerle Park is a 5.5-acre park located off Highway 43 in West Linn next to an elementary school. It has two playgrounds with bathrooms and a splash pad close by. The bigger playground has a long ramp, multiple climbing structures, and slides to climb to the top. There's a small area connected to this play structure suited for ages two to five with a small climbing net and slides. The other playground is a boat theme with a slide, bubble windows, and multiple areas for imaginative play. Baby swings are close to this area as well. The bark covering is nice in case of falls.
The water for the splash pad turns on Memorial Weekend until Labor Day weekend. It's a wonderful splash pad with many sprays. It can get really busy during the summer with not much shade. If you want to go when there aren't many people there, I'd recommend going early or later. We like to bring our sunshade and lots of sunscreen.
There are large grassy areas for picnics, lawn games, or to run around. There are swings, musical instruments, and a climbing gym close to the pickle ball courts. The shelter is a great place to host a party or get-together. You can reserve the shelter by calling 503-557-4700. Since the school is close by, there can be many cars before school starts or ends, but there's a parking lot and parking on the street. The West Linn library is only half a mile away so we like to visit both places.
