Harmony Playground in Brooklyn's Prospect Park boasts musical features, two separate play areas, and swings.

Located between 9th and 10th Streets in Brooklyn's Prospect Park, Harmony Playground is an extremely popular playground all year round for kids of all ages. It is located near the Prospect Park Bandshell, on West Drive right off of 10th Street and Prospect Park West.

The music theme adds a touch of whimsy, with giant metal musical notes holding vertical pipes for kids to play like xylophones, and in summer, a large iron harp and trumpet spurt water to cool down the neighborhood children that flock here.

The playground is separated into two separate sections – one side hosts a jungle gym, sandbox, and baby swings for the younger set. In contrast, the other side features a large jungle gym, slides, tunnels, a shaky bridge, and full-size regular swings for the older children. This playground appeals to both my 6-year-old and my 10-year-old. The playground is Level 2 ADA compliant.

She's spent the last 20 years far from her rural roots, living in large cities both in the US and abroad. Her family -- including her two daughters, age 6 and 10 -- just recently located to Brooklyn, New York after spending two years living abroad in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Renee looks forward to exploring and discovering all of the active, family-friendly activities that Brooklyn has to offer!
