Third Street Playground in Brooklyn's Prospect Park is perfect for smaller kids!

The Third Street playground, located just inside the 3rd Street entrance from Prospect Park West, is perfect for the older toddler to a school-age child looking to have fun and let off some steam outdoors! There is a sandbox, various climbing equipment, and tire and baby swings, but no regular swings for the older children. As a result, even though this is my neighborhood playground, my six-year-old enjoys playing here, but my ten-year-old feels bored.

In the summer, there is a fun water feature. Summertime is popular: play becomes more creative, as you find children transporting the sand from the sandbox to a stream of water that runs through the playground from the water feature. Winter tends to be quieter as the surrounding trees make the park shady. This playground is Level 3 ADA compliant.
