Hemingway Park is a neat little park in Cottage Grove that is so off the beaten path you cannot see it from the road.

I had absolutely no idea this park existed until a few months ago when I went on a hunt to check out all of the parks in Cottage Grove. I've driven past this area many times, but I never knew it was there. On Hemingway Avenue, it's a small gravel road up a bit of hill to the top. At the top is a large grassy area with a playground and baseball field. There was no designated parking area. It's just gravel that turns into the grass. One thing it's missing is a bathroom or porta-potty.

The playground here isn't huge, but it had some neat things that none of the area parks have. My kids immediately noticed the bright blue web climber that they now have nicknamed the blue spider web when they want to visit that park again. Next to it is a spinner seat. Both my kids love these, and I get an arm workout spinning it. There's also a long red climber that my kids were balancing and trying gymnastics moves on. The play structure isn't huge by any means. It has some stairs, along with a toddler-sized slide, a spiral slide, monkey bars, and a pole at an angle. Next to the playground is a single bench, perfect for a parent to sit on and watch the kids play. This park is very clean and quiet. I would recommend it to any mom who needs a peaceful hour to herself while the kids play. 

After leaving here, swing by Sushi Cafe and grab a delicious Boba Tea for your drive home.
