Hillantrae is a beautiful park nestled in the back of a lovely and quite community.
We were excited to check this park out as we have always heard great things about it. When we pulled into a neighborhood and kept making a number of turns I got nervous that our GPS had us going somewhere else. We kept following the GPS and I’m so happy we did! Insider Tip: you will drive through the neighborhood for a few minutes and make a couple of turns but don’t worry, if you plug in the address here, you will arrive!
When we finally arrived at Hillantrae Community Park the pavilion and large playground immediately catch your eyes. We couldn’t wait to get out of the car to explore and play. What a great community park, spacious with tons of green space to play, an amazing playground, wide trails that are perfect for biking, scootering and strollers.
The large pavilion is a great spot to gather and have lunch, a snack or even an early dinner. Invite friends as there is plenty of room for a small gathering. Hillantrae Community Park even has charcoal grills next to the playground that can be used by the community.
The playground is great, so many fun things to do from the slides, rock climbing wall, swings and much more. This space is great for children of all ages as they have a play area geared towards younger children as well. There is no shade or trees around the playground. Something to be aware of in the middle of summer.
Make sure to follow the trails that lead you to a baseball field and practice football field. So much green space to run and play!
One things to keep in mind, they do have restroom facilities but they are currently closed due to covid. Please check in with Maryland state laws to see when public restrooms at parks will re-open.
