Hillside Elementary School Playground is a great spot to stop with kids in the evenings or on weekends.
This playground is recently updated and is a great spot to stop with your kids. There is so much to do here at the playground because of the variety of equipment. There is so much to entertain kids, from the abundance of big kid swings to the six slides and two types of monkey bars.
There are a few different areas in the playground. A bigger structure contains four slides, a few climbing areas including a rope net to climb up, and the kids climbing wall. Next to it, the smaller play structure has monkey bars, two slides, a fire pole, and a tunnel to climb through. The last area (my kiddos favorite) is the monkey bars and zip line combo structure. They are each connected. These monkey bars are circular and a bit harder to master, but both my kids have got it down. Next to those structures is a smaller, older zip line. In the middle of all the structures is a rope-type spinner, where kids can sit or stand inside while someone spins them from the outside. This is a neat piece that not many playgrounds have.
Because it is at a school, the playground is only available for use after the after-school care program is over and on weekends, or anytime during the summer months. If you are coming to visit, remember that since it's a school, there are no bathrooms and wood chips, so I think closed-toed shoes work better. Also, no seating for parents or caregivers exists here.
After spending some time playing here, head out on one of the nice trails that connects it to Pine Tree Pond Park just down the road. It's a beautiful walk.
