Holly Street is a sweet, quaint park with elementary playground, blacktop games, and basketball for all ages!
Holly Street Park, located in the urban Oregon Hill neighborhood in Richmond, VA, is a small, sweet park with lots to do just two blocks from the river and along the train tracks. Holly Street Park offers outdoor recreation and nature preservation for just about all ages. The entire park is fenced in with an additional fenced in area in the inner part, potentially for bikes or other wheeled toys. Here you will see a basketball court, shelter with a bathroom, playground, and blacktop games. The play area is equipped for tots, toddlers, and elementary schoolers with multiple slides, and physical and mental educational activities.
Next to the slides, you’ll find various elementary play stations. These areas on the plastic playground will help freshen up the preschoolers with their numbers, sports, and fruit. You’ll see some tots riding toys, “Learn About It” stations, and an “Animal Tracker” featuring five native animals to the area. You can even find some TicTacToe & picture areas to occupy your littles. Don’t worry about getting all the extra energy out because you can ensure a good workout activity with the old school physical education stations including monkey bars, chin-ups, and pull-ups. You can even reminisce about your young days at the blacktop on the four square, hopscotch, and corners courses.
Feel free to bring snacks, water, and a packed lunch to enjoy on any of the four picnic tables or even back some patties and your BBQ items to use the two grills in the picnic area. You may see some older kids and adults here as there’s a full size basketball court with hoops up. This public space is open to the general public, offering open spaces under the maintenance of the City of Richmond Parks.
