Activities for Everyone in the Family, Young and Old, to Enjoy.
Located in Scottsdale, outside the 101, Horizon Park is a 24-acre park featuring two playgrounds, a community center, dog park, sand volleyball courts, pickleball courts, basketball courts, and restrooms. The north playground areas have two play structures and swing sets. The first play structure, geared towards elementary age, has several slides, a rock wall, climbing, steps, and interactive play stations.
The second play structure, geared towards preschool age, has slides, a rockslide, steps, climbing, and interactive play stations. Both play areas have large awnings covering the playground, and the surface is filled in with sand. The restrooms are nearby the playgrounds for easy access. The south playground, located behind the softball field, has one play structure with slides, climbing, steps, and interactive play stations. This play area was renovated in 2020. This play area, however, has no shade awning, so it can be hot, and it is filled in with wood chips. There are picnic spaces throughout the park, which is great for snack or lunch breaks.
This park has a bounty of sport-related activities for older kids and adults with five sand volleyball, four softball fields (lighted), ten pickleball courts (lighted), and three basketball courts. There is even a dog park for the furry ones in your family to get some exercise.
The Horizon Park Community Center is a 15,000 square foot facility for use by the public for meetings, gatherings, event rooms, and classrooms available for rent. They also have community events like The Great Elf Escape, after-school programs, and parent drop-off nights. Check out their website for more information on the programs.
