Enjoy 18.5 Miles of Walking, Jogging, or Biking Along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway

The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway extends from Bayonne to the George Washington Bridge, stretching 18.5 miles along the Hudson River in New Jersey. The walkway is 30 feet wide and a spectacular place for families to get out while enjoying the Manhattan skyline views.

There are many opportunities to stop and relax or enjoy additional activities along the path. Picnic areas, playgrounds, skate parks, ball fields, lookout points, and a ton of restaurants are all located along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. You can easily spend a day enjoying this area and the views of the city.

If your kids are older and don't need smaller bikes or baby seats, try renting bikes through one of the Citi Bike stations and head on out for a fun cruise up and down the Hudson. There are multiple Citi Bike stations along the way that you can drop off from when you are done as well.

If you want to continue the fun, you can also take a ferry ride across the Hudson to get some more great views of the city. Plus, kids always love ferry rides! It's an affordable way to get across the river, and you can even bring your bike across and then try the NYC side of the Hudson River Walkway (called the Greenway on the NYC side).

If you have your car with you, parking can be difficult (as it is in any large city). There are parking garages nearby, as well as metered parking and free street parking. You may find you have to drive up and down a bit to get a spot, but just be aware of reading the signs when you do. One side of the road is only for residents, and it can be a hefty fine/tow if you park there.
