Imagination Station Playground is every child's dream come true! Located in Columbia Park, Troutdale, this is a destination playground you won't want to miss!
Imagination Station has everything your child could want in a playground, complete with rubber grounds and easy parking in big lots, all surrounded by big fields with picnic tables scattered nearby.
The playground is divided into two major areas: a huge section for ages 5-12 and a smaller, fenced area for ages two to five. Next to the play structure, there is a swing set that has four traditional swings, two all-user swings, a tire swing, and a large disc swing that could seat about four kids. Additionally, there is a four-seater bouncer see-saw type of structure, rock climbing structures, and a giant rope-webbed climbing structure. There is also a spinner that has three sections, one of which has a bench. You can fit a stroller in the other two sections; it sits close to the ground and is about three inches high, so you will need to bump the stroller up.
The play area for ages 5-12 years old has a massive, epic play structure with several slides, both straight and twisty, climbing walls, spinners, bridges, rings, bars, rope climbing areas, and a rock wall. As a mama to a one-year-old who can’t walk yet, I especially loved that you can access the structure by ramp from three sides of the structure. The ramp is wide enough to easily wheel your stroller up and hang out in the center of the structure to keep an eye on your other little ones as they run and climb all over.
The play area for ages two to five years old has a few small climbing structures that connect to a play barn with a slide. The structures are fairly low to the ground and mostly enclosed, keeping your toddler safe. There is also a four-person bouncing see-saw and swing set here that has three baby swings and one small all-user swing.
Diaper changes will have to happen at your vehicle, on the grass, or on a picnic table. There are indoor restrooms, however, they were closed for winter. Leashed dogs are allowed at the park; however, they are not allowed within the playground areas.
It’s worth noting that this playground shares a parking lot with Reynolds High School, so I would imagine that the parking lot and surrounding streets get busy around arrival and dismissal times.
If you’re wanting to turn this into a full-day adventure, head over to McMenamins Edgefield Hotel (2.3 miles away) for a meal afterward!
