Located south of downtown Lynchburg, Iron & Ale is a family friendly Taphouse serving up pub style food with a southern twist. With a cozy atmosphere to enjoy game day on one of the 15 TV's or a more intimate setting on the second story balcony, this can be enjoyed by the whole family or a date night. No matter the occasion or dining experience you are looking for Iron & Ale won't disappoint. They aim to master every aspect of your experience with friendly helpful staff and bringing eco-friendly practices to business. They strive to use sustainable food sources from local farmers and businesses providing the freshest produce and proteins in the area. You can tell the quality of their food in the taste. You can enjoy their delicious food for lunch, dinner, and brunch. For starters they have hog wings, mozzarella spinach sticks, soft pretzels, tots, potato skins, onion rings, poutine, sliders, Buffalo dip, double stuffed potatoes spring rolls, fried pickles, caprese dip, bang bang shrimp, honey sriracha bites, fried green tomatoes, and more. Then there are a variety of soups and salads for a lighter fare. Then they have sandwiches, burgers, and entrees of chicken, seafood, beef, or pork options. Some favorites include the lobster roll, bourbon street chicken, chicken cordon bleu, Shiner burger, Cuban rueben, and crab sandwich, to name just a few. There is a kid specific menu which includes fish bites, grilled cheese, pizza, pasta, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and grilled chicken. For lunch the menu is fairly similar, limited selections to the dinner menu but includes some lunch plates like the vegetable plate, Mediterranean pasta salad, Italian pasta salad, and chicken salad plate. Then on the weekend you can enjoy a brunch menu which includes items like the Monte Cristo, chorizo hash bowl, shrimp & grits, California Benny, waffles, French toast, and a breakfast plate.
For the adults, they have 30 taps for local craft brews along with wines and handcrafted cocktails. During the weekends you can enjoy mimosa buckets every Saturday until 4 pm and all day on Sunday.
The restaurant is two stories. The first floor has ample space of tables and chairs and several booths. Upstairs has more tables and booths as well high top tables and bar to enjoy. They also have large outside covered dining on the first and second floor as well as some around the side of the building as well.
