Get Outside and Play in the Great Little Space at Ironwood Park.
Located northwest of Phoenix, in Scottsdale outside of 101, Ironwood Park is a 4-acre park featuring a playground, picnic area, drop-in ramada, basketball court, tennis court, and public restrooms. The playground area has two play structures, ride-on bounce toys, a swing set, and a picnic area. The first play structure, geared towards preschool age, has small slides, steps, climbing, and a ground-level tunnel. The second play structure, geared towards elementary age, has several slides, tunnel, climbing, tunnel, interactive play. Both these play areas have a large covered awning perfect for those hot summer days. There are two swing sets with baby swings and traditional swings. These are not shaded. The restrooms a close to the playground, so it is convenient for the little ones who might be in a sudden hurry while enjoying the playground. You can also stroll a baby around while still keeping an eye on little ones playing on the equipment.
There is a tennis court and basketball court not far from the playground so bring your equipment. The basketball court does have lights to be able to play when the sun sets, which is really nice, especially during the winter. Behind the tennis court is very short gravel walking path. This would be good for young or inexperienced bike riders to learn on a short distance and get some experience riding on gravel.
Ironwood Park is a great little neighborhood park for families to enjoy, so bring a picnic and spend a couple of hours playing.
