Visit the animals and play at the family-friendly Irvine Park Zoo.

Located north of downtown Chippewa Falls, Irvine Park Zoo is a 318-acre city park that was established in 1906. This city park zoo is home to tigers, cougars, bobcats, deer, bison, black bear, other wildlife, and the Red Barn Petting Zoo. The zoo area is not that big, so it's easily walkable for young children. It is stroller-friendly too. You can drive and park to see the larger enclosures if you don't want to walk all the way around the zoo.

The park has two historic markers on the property, including the Sunny Valley School House and the Norwegian Log Home. In addition, the park hosts numerous events throughout the year, such as the most popular Christmas Village lights. There are over 100,000 lights to enjoy.

Along with the zoo, you will find several hiking trails that also allow cross country skiing in the winter, two playgrounds, and a small splash pad. The park has multiple locations to park your car. The splash pad and one playground can be found at the entrance on Bridgewater Avenue and Irvine Park Road. Another playground can be found closer to the main entrance of the zoo area. So depending on the activity, you might choose a parking lot closer to that space.

Irvine Park Zoo is a popular spot for families to enjoy a beautiful day outside. So check it out for your next family adventure. Although admission is free, there is a donation spot. This goes towards improvement and animal care.
