Run, swing, climb and slide in a place for all at Jake's Field of Dreams!

Jake's Field of Dreams is a special place in the community of Wentzville, Missouri. In 2018 the playground opened to honor Jake who passed in 2012 from muscular dystrophy. The playground was designed with the intent of inclusion for everyone with any disability. It is a safe zone for interaction between kids, adults, and their friends of all abilities. An open space provides plenty of room to run around in and many unique climbing structures. Traditional swings as well as adaptable swings accommodate anyone wanting to use the swing set. Slides at varying levels of height are throughout the play area. The playground surface is soft and more forgiving than standard play pads.

Sports were a big inspiration for the playground's equipment. You will notice baseball-themed pieces, football field goals, and obstacle course race areas. A custom zip line was built with seats for every kid to be able to use. Merry go rounds, jungle gym, and climbing towers are all wheelchair/walker accessible. A trampoline is also an awesome feature. There are plenty of blue overhangs to provide shade to take a break from the sun. Bring some snacks, a picnic basket, and some games to enjoy between playtime.

Jake's Field of Dreams is located within Heartland Park. Heartland Park offers many large sports fields, restrooms, walking paths, and ample parking. There is also a lake with an outlook, and a bridge going over it. This park is great for a family day at the playground, walk in the park, and visit the lake.
