The whole family will enjoy Java Moose, a local coffee shop on the North Shore.

Families headed to Minnesota's North Shore will adore this charming coffee shop. Centrally located in Grand Marias, Java Moose is a local favorite for gathering and chatting. Plus, it is ideal for coffee, ice cream, or a quick lunch. 

Drink options include the usual favorites like lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, tea, and more. Seasonal lattes are also available, including pumpkin spice and other flavors. The maple latte is a local favorite - and a must-try. It is even made with local maple syrup! The dairy alternative offered is oat milk.

For breakfast, families can munch on muffins, scones, and breakfast sandwiches (allow for additional time for sandwiches, as they are made upon order). For lunch or a quick snack, grab a sandwich or ice cream. Kids will undoubtedly adore the mini-muffins (available until sold out). Flavors change depending on the day, but double-chocolate, raspberry and white chocolate, and blueberry are typically available. 

When inside seating is available (currently limited due to COVID-19), families will adore the puzzles located in the back seating area. Kids can grab puzzles to work on while waiting or dining at Java Moose. Outside seating with lake views is also available. Alternatively, take your order to go and enjoy it across the street on the harbor beach of Lake Superior.

The family-friendly restroom includes a changing table. There are no high-chairs, but families with strollers can easily fit one near a table if dining in. Java Moose has a small parking lot on-site, but free street parking is widely available.
