Enjoy Unique and Delicious Homemade Ice Cream and other treats at La Michoacana!  

If you are looking for a yummy treat that is anything but ordinary, this is the place!!  We stumbled upon this adorable corner shop after a fun, but very hot afternoon exploring Anson B Nixon Park and it was exactly the refreshing treats we all needed.

We were pleasantly surprised at the amazing eclectic variety of flavors as well as the extremely friendly staff.   With so many unique flavors they were so accommodating and let us sample as many as we wanted.  The choices were exotic and combinations we had never even imagined in ice cream - Wow were they amazing!!  My husband loved the Avocado with chili powder sprinkled on top and I fell in love with Corn sprinkled with cinnamon.  My son was so happy they had his favorite chocolate in an ice cream flavor, Ferrero Rocher, and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since.  My other son who isn’t as adventurous with his flavors was so pleased with his favorite go-to cookies & cream.   

They also have handcrafted popsicles, water ice and sorbet in just as many different flavors. I had a Corn Ice Cream Popsicle dipped in chocolate that was like nothing I’d ever had before. They even sell them packaged to take home so next time I will be bringing a cooler to stock up!

It is a take-out place without any inside areas to sit, but there are a few benches outside to enjoy your ice cream.

It was such a nice family-owned business that you could tell took so much pride in their work.  They made sure to let us know if we were hungry to check out their other store,  La Michoacana Grill right down the street.  The grill offers fresh, authentic Mexican food made right in front of you much like a popular chain we all love.
