A Minneapolis Favorite, Lake Harriet Park Offers a Lovely Lake, Playground, Walking Path, and More!
Families will adore Lake Harriet Park! From water activity rentals to music in the park to a large playground, there is a lot to love about Lake Harriet Park. On the playground, kids will find ample space to run, play, climb, and laugh. Parents will love that there are ample benches around the playground. Alternatively, active parents will appreciate the large structures that also allow adults to climb and play with their kids! On the playground, find climbing nets, slides, diggers, and more. Nearby, there is also a large field where families can throw a ball or a frisbee (watch for mud in the low-lying areas).
Then, families can also take a stroll around the lake (perfect for strollers!). In fact, families will find 2.75 miles of pedestrian trails and 2.99 miles of bike trails. As you walk along the paved pedestrian trail, keep an eye out for the fairy house! Kids will delight in finding this special little feature tucked away at the base of one of the trees (located on the south end of the lake). In the summer, public beaches and watercraft rentals are available too. In fact, families can rent canoes, kayaks, bikes, and paddleboards through Wheel Fun Rentals (on-site). Additionally, a fishing pier is also available.
Hungry families can find a bite to eat at the Bread and Pickle (located at the pavilion). Or, pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the many picnic tables located around Lake Harriet Park. Be sure to check the events calendar for music or other family-friendly events happening within the park. Finally, on-site parking (pay lots) and restrooms are available.
