Head out on Lobo Trail between Longmont and Boulder for some fresh air fun with family and friends of all ages!

This trail features a flat, wide path perfect for a nice stroll. Whether taking a call or disconnecting, Lobo is a great trail to explore. You can choose to make it a quick out and back or take it the full 15 miles into Boulder. (LoBo trail stands for Lower Boulder or Longmont to Boulder depending on who you ask!)

Bikes as well as leashed dogs are also welcome on this trail There are points of interest along the way, including various landscapes. Depending on how much ground you cover, you may pass grazing animals, lakes, creeks and go over a small bridge. You will also often come across a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities in addition to the diverse plantlife. The breathtaking mountain views the area is known for do not disappoint along the Lobo Trail.

A few opportunities for shade present themselves, but most of the time you are exposed to the elements. Pack some water, sunscreen and perhaps a hat particularly when the sun is high.

There are educational placards placed along the trail that share information about the historical significance of the area and the development of the trail itself.

There are a few parking lots where you can pick up the trail, so you might begin at a different point depending on how far you plan to go. Don't forget to come equipped with bug spray in the warmer months. The trail can get muddy at certain times of year, but is easily navigable at dryer times.
