A memorable park and playground in Arlington with fun for kids of all ages!

Lubber Run Park & Community Center has so many fun things to enjoy! While the location remains the same, everything about Lubber Run Park is new (complete renovation completed September 2020). Kids will love the hill slides and rock climbing hill - a first in Arlington - along with net climbers, group swings, and a sandbox. Next to the manicured lawn (and a great hill for rolling down), there are multi-purpose courts for pickleball, volleyball, and basketball.

Take a walk along the new boardwalk that connects to the rest of Lubber Run Park while walking through the forest, paved path, and nature trails. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy under the picnic shelter or relax under the gazebo. Following snow, the hill is perfect for sledding!

If you’re looking for an adventure after the adventure, Lubber Run Park is close to Ballston Quarter where you can enjoy meals from over 15 different dining experiences, including Brunch style foodNashville style chickenPizza, or Oysters. You can also follow up with Ice Cream if you're not too cold!

Insider Tip: public restrooms and drinking fountains are available at Lubber Run Park

Melody Parry Jones
Melody moved around most of her life (military family) and graduated from the University of Central Florida where she was a college athlete. Even though the beach will always feel like home, she now lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, Brent, and the #fourlittlejonesies. After stints as a flight attendant, government consultant, and sales representative for a major running brand, Melody spends her days exploring and adventuring with the kids. Whether it’s a hike, playground, bike ride/run to a playground, or nature walk, Melody and the kids are always out of the house by 9:30am (otherwise, it’s chaos). Melody is a Washington D.C. ambassador, and loves the opportunity to explore even more in the city she calls home.
