Marvin Efird Park has an awesome playground you will want to check out. 
 

Located in Marvin, just south of Charlotte, Marvin Efird Park is tucked away between neighborhoods. The park features a playground, trails, restrooms, disc golf, picnic areas, and a community garden. The playground is a wooden playground with trees as the base. This gives the playground a "treehouse" feel with two slides, a rock wall, a bouncing bridge, steps, and a mini-house in the tree.The restrooms are right next to the playground along with picnic areas. Mature trees surround the playground so the park can be shaded at certain times of the day. There are groomed and maintained trails you can access from the playground area. There are woods surrounding the area, so kids can explore the woods and play at the playground during the same visit. 

Down the road at the back of the park, you will find the pond, trail entrances, picnic shelter, and disc golf course. We ended up eating our lunch by the pond and went back to the playground for more fun. If your family is into geo caching, there is a geo cache down near the pond. 

The park hosts several community events throughout the year including Marvin Movie Night under the stars, National Night Out, and Holiday tree lighting. There is a beautiful barn next to the playground that is available for rent as well as a picnic shelter near the pond. Many photographers use this space for taking photos but be sure to read the rules and regulations on this. 

Marvin Efird Park is a wonderful hidden gem you will want to check out. Between the trails, playground, and picnic space by the pond, we spent a few hours here. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
