There are a lot of things to enjoy while visiting Mohawk Park on the south side of Cranford. Pick one or all depending on your mood!

We started with the playground which is completely fenced in, has a soft rubber surface, and is very shaded. There are several jungle gyms serving various age groups. The smallest, good for toddlers, has slides, tunnels, and platforms to run around. In the middle of the playground is a larger slide structure with more difficult climbing and a rope web, more suited to the 5+ crowd (or young climbers with adult supervision). The last structure is best for kids 8+ with various methods to climb to the tall top. One swing set has 2 standard swings, an adaptive swing, and the coolest baby/parent co-swing.

Surrounding the playground are a few benches for parents to sit and watch. There’s also a grassy area in the fenced enclosure with picnic tables. No bathroom or water fountains are available.  It's a popular location with locals, but not too crowded or busy.

Next to the playground is a wooden bridge where we stopped to play a few rounds of Poohsticks (everyone drops a stick on the upstream side of a bridge and the stick to appear on the other side first is the winner). Just past the bridge is a basketball court next to the paved path that circles a pond. The path is great for strollers, walking (with or without your dog), jogging, or bike-riding with scenic views. Keep your eyes looking in the pond to spot turtles sunbathing! Fishing is also allowed and if the conditions are right, ice-skating in the winter.
