Mountain Hawk Park is an outdoor adventure the whole family will enjoy.
Located in the Eastlake Vistas community of Chula Vista is Mountain Hawk Park, this 12 acre park opened in 2006 and sits at the top of a hill which overlooks the Otay Lake. There is plenty of grass space for laying out a picnic blanket and have a relaxing time with loved ones or sit under the parks many trees to read a book. Now if physical activities is more of what sparks an interest, then do not forget to bring a ball and play at the basketball court, kick a ball on their large soccer field, or run around and play frisbee with the children.
In addition to the other physical activities available, children can make their way to either the Tot Lot or the jungle gym play area. The Tot Lot play area is designed for small children, the children can walk across a small bridge and make their way down a double slide or climb up the chain link ladder to the top of the stucture. The bigger kids can play on the jungle gym, hang on the monkey bars, sit on the fun circular spinner, or try climbing the giant rock. When the children are done playing at the playground, they can cool themselves down at the parks interactive splash pad. The splash pad is large enough for kids to explore and is opened from April 1st through November 1st.
Throughout the park there are three large shaded gazebos, along with picnic tables, benches and an outdoor amphitheater. Restrooms are conveniently located between the splash pad area and the playground. Plenty of parking spaces are available along with two disabled parking spaces. Bike racks, BBQ grills, and water fountains are other amenities the park has to offer.
Wrap up the evening at Mountain Hawk Park by taking a leisurely stroll on the family-friendly trail, it runs along the entrance of the park to the very end near the soccer field. The trail is jogger-stroller friendly and is perfect because of its privacy and saftey.
Approximately two miles from the parks location is Otay Ranch Town Center, a large outdoor shopping mall with many shops and restaurants.
