Beginner-Friendly Trail Rides in Scenic Area

I didn’t grow up riding horses, so I’m equally cautious and intrigued by them –they’re beautiful, majestic, and a tad scary for me. I say that only to encourage beginners and their children to try trail riding with Natchez Trace Stables. Enjoying a horseback ride is a lovely way to spend an afternoon and it’s a great way to explore some gorgeous countryside, including a short wooded area, pasture, and even a creek (my favorite part!).  I’d recommend going in the fall (October or November) when the leaves are turning and it’s not so hot outside.

The horses at Natchez Trace Stable are well adjusted to the trail ride routine and they typically fall in line to a slow walk through the countryside, making it a good experience for even the most beginner of riders.  Because riders must be solo, I’d recommend kids be at least seven or eight.

You'll need to make a reservation in advance and you may want to arrive early so the beginners have time to ask questions and see the horses and build up a little courage before taking off to the trails.
