The water is always fine at The Navarre Beach Marine Park!
Located in the Florida panhandle, the sound side of Navarre Beach Marine Park is ready to be enjoyed. Visitors will love the calm waters of the Santa Rosa Sound, great for a variety of water activities. The shallow waters of the swimming area are perfect for younger children to enjoy and the beach area is great for sunbathing and sand castle building. The undeveloped acreage provides untouched views of the area and there are several wetland habitats which are great for birdwatching. You may even catch a view of playful dolphins or hermit crabs.
The area is a popular spot for paddle boarding and kayaking due to its easy access and flat waters. On windy days it can even be great for kite surfing. There are also artificial reefs located in the sound providing an aquatic habitat perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, or fishing.
The sound side of the Navarre Beach Marine Park is open to the public free of charge, from sun-up to sun-down daily. It provides sandy beach areas, easy access points to the Santa Rosa Sound, and adequate facilities. Visitors will find three large public parking lots with boardwalks and restrooms. There are also outdoor showers which are perfect for cleaning sandy feet and toys at the end of a fun beach day. Shaded pavilions with grills and picnic tables can be reserved for large parties or events by calling 850-981-8900.
Navarre Beach is becoming a popular destination for beachgoers. While free public parking is plentiful, it can fill up quickly on warm, sunny days. Consider arriving early during the peak season to beat traffic. Also be sure to pack your sunscreen and consider bringing a life jacket for unexperienced swimmers as there are no lifeguards on duty at this location. Lastly, take the time to watch the sun melt into the Santa Rosa Sound during the summer months – you won’t be disappointed!
