Nickelodeon Universe is a huge indoor amusement park located in the center of the Mall of America.
If you are a tourist coming to Minnesota with kids, this is probably already on your list. If you are local to Minnesota, you probably already know many details. But either way, it's a must-stop with kids. As soon as you walk into the mall and catch a glimpse of the bright colors from the center of the mall, your kids will want to head straight there. You can buy tickets online; many times you can find discount tickets. We usually buy the unlimited ride wristbands because they tend to be a better deal for us. My best advice if you happen to go on a weekend is to go right at open and spend 2 - 3 hours there, take a break for lunch and to explore the mall and head back. The middle of the day on weekends tends to be super busy and taking a break from the craziness then is perfect.
The rides here are geared towards all ages, from the Paw Patrol Adventure Bay for littles to Fairly Odd Coaster for bigger kids and adults. Everyone can find something here they will enjoy. All of the younger kids' rides are built so parents can ride with. If kids are below a certain height, parents are required to ride with them but do not have to pay. There are tons of bathrooms located throughout the park and the mall itself. The amusement park also has a huge arcade and smaller game stands located around the outside as well as snack stands and restaurants if you don't want to leave or just want to grab a quick snack. The park is fairly wheelchair and handicapped-friendly but a few things weren't super ADA-friendly.
I definitely recommend checking this out with kids when you visit Minnesota, even if you are a local. Plan to spend a day here, live in the moment and watch your kids faces light up with how much fun they are having.
