Old Cottage Grove Community Park is a hidden gem tucked in an older neighborhood.

I didn't even know this park existed when I looked up all of the parks in our hometown. As soon as we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a smaller five-acre park, you can easily see from one end to the other. The playground here is brand new, I would guess less than a year old.

This park is a great spot for year-round outdoor adventures. There is an ice rink available for use in the winter, softball and basketball for use in warmer months and the updated playground to play on all year long. The playground equipment consists of a small toddler area with a little climber and slide, one spinner for kids of all ages, an older kids swing, baby/toddler swing, a huge dinosaur climber and then a bigger play structure for older kids with a couple of climbing activities and a bigger slide.

Next to the playground is a nice, new picnic table. This park is very well maintained with nicely cut grass and no trash. Everything has been kept up very well. If you need to sit and get some work done but also want the kids to be able to play safely, this is a park I recommend. You could easily get an hour of work done while sitting on the picnic table and watching them from there. No one else was visiting the day we were there and I suspect that it's typically a quiet spot. There is one porta-potty here, at the opposite end of the park from the playground, but it's nice they have one.

After spending an hour here, head down the road to Bridgeman's Ice Cream in Woodbury and enjoy a sweet treat.
