Otto Berg Park, located in Stillwater Township, is an off-the-beaten-path park with great amenities.
Located on the outskirts of this historic town, we have driven past this park numerous times and never stopped until this summer day. The park is kind of confusing to get to because it's at the intersection of three different roads. The amenities here include a huge pavilion, playground, softball/baseball/soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts. Most of this park is fenced-in, a nice added feature. There are porta-potties available here in the warmer months. The playground is mostly shaded, a nice touch on hot and sunny summer days. I've never seen it busy here at all, it's a nice calm park to enjoy if you or your kiddos need a quieter spot to visit.
The playground here is absolutely adorable. A woodsy theme with bright blue color in the mix. The overhangs are cute with leaf-looking tops and tree trunk bottoms. Even the climbing area is a wood look-alike piece so it looks like you are climbing a tree. Next to the playground are a couple of benches for parents or caregivers to sit on while the kids play. It's close enough that you can easily keep an eye on them from there. The pavilion is a little bit further away and is a little too far for my comfort to let kids play while sitting there.
After a visit to this great park, head into Downtown Stillwater and visit River Siren Brewing, grab a pint of beer and play games on the patio with the kids.
