Pickwick Landing State Park Can Be Enjoyed as a Day Trip,  Weekend Getaway, or a Whole Week of Fun.

Located south of Savannah, along the Tennesse River, Pickwick Landing State Park is known for its excellent water recreation. The lake and River offer boating, fishing, swimming, and a marina. Since the park is located just below the Pickwick Lake dam, it is known to have some of the best fishing spots. Several local and national fishing tournaments take place here because of it!

There are two public boat ramps in the park along with a full-service marina. There is also a variety of paddle crafts for rent, or you can bring your own. There are two public beaches located in the day-use area. The Circle Beach and Sandy Beach give you a combo of two miles of beach to enjoy. Swimming is at your own risk, and there are restrooms available.

In addition to water activities, there is golfing, disc golf, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, and tennis. The golf course is a favorite among locals as well as destination golfers. The first hole starts next to the Inn and finishes with a view of Pickwick Lake. You can get a course map at the park office or the front desk at the Inn.

There are two trails for hiking, one with a paved surface and the other with a natural surface. The Island Loop is a 2.8-mile natural surface trail and is rated as an easy hike. The Inn Walking Trail is a 1.2-mile paved easy walking trail. Both are great and simple ways to get amongst the trees and enjoy nature. Pickwick Landing is also one of the best state parks in west Tennessee for winter birding. This spot is a bird lover's dream with grebes, loons, gulls, ducks, coots, and more.

Other accommodations in the park include a lodge and restaurant, cabins, and camping. The Lodge at Pickwick Landing has 119 rooms, each with a picturesque lake view. There are indoor and outdoor pools for the cabin and lodge guests to enjoy. The lodge also has a restaurant, gift shop, laundry facilities, exercise rooms, and meeting rooms.

Pickwick Landing State Park is a great spot for family reunions, getaway weekends, and week-long vacations. There is also camping, including RV and tent sites. The beautiful wooded campground has 48 sites with tables, grills, and electric & water hookups.

The park always hosts events and classes like a Christmas hike along the River, the first day of the year hike, educational events, birding hikes, and more.

Pickwick Landing State Park has something for the whole family and is a destination spot for travelers. Check this out for your next family adventure. You won't be disappointed.
