Pier 6 of Brooklyn Bridge Park contains many fun-filled activities located within lush native gardens.
The piers and parks at Brooklyn Park Bridge are some of the best and most fun parks I’ve ever seen! Located right on the water, these parks make for a fun-filled day in the city. This is the furthest pier from the Brooklyn Bridge but has entrances at this end of the area as well. There is definitely not a lack of activities to do here. A popular one is slide mountain! Here there are two different slides, one built into the side of a structure that looks just like a mountain, and another one is a tube slide coming from a very tall mountain-like structure with a weathervane on top. These slides are very fun and definitely different from what you’d see in a normal park.
Another fun aspect of Pier 6 is the Water Lab. This area makes up for the lack of pools in the city and is bound to get you wetter than all the splash pads across the city combined! The Water Lab is very big with many different features and docks and is a perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Head to the huge sandpit to make it seem like a beach day in the city!
Although all of Pier 6 was so much fun, my favorite part of the whole area was definitely the Swing Valley. There were so many separate pods with 2 swings in each area so you’re never too crowded by other families. Swings for all ages, including baby swings, all ability swings, and rope swings made up this area and definitely make kids feel like they’re in their separate world flying through the trees surrounding it.
Other notable aspects of Pier 6 are the small walking paths through nature and the Flower Garden that is in beautiful bloom during the spring and summertime, as well as the climbing features and volleyball courts It also has many picnic benches and is located right near Fornino restaurant, and all the other piers with fun activities. Brooklyn Bridge Park is a whole-day adventure, and Pier 6 is a definite stop on the list!
