Pine Coulee Park is an older, quiet park with a nice playground in Cottage Grove. 

When we pulled up to this park, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of amenities here, including a parking lot and porta potty. A gazebo is adorable, with a couple of picnic tables inside. The playground isn't huge but has a couple of slides, swings, spinners, fire poles, and climbing. Much to my surprise, there was also a basketball court and softball field here. 

The location of this park is off the beaten path, but if you need a less crowded park for your kids, this is it. I had no idea it even existed until I went on a hunt for all the Cottage Grove parks. This would be the perfect spot to sit and get some work done while your kids play. It's far from the road, smaller so you are able to see everything, there are bathrooms and even picnic tables. If you have a toddler who is a runner and loves to explore, this is perfect. You can keep them safe from the road and feel pretty comfortable with them exploring the playground by themselves. This park is very clean. You can tell that it probably doesn't get used very often. It's 2.5 acres, so it isn't huge. The ground is made of wood chips, so closed-toed shoes versus sandals are needed here.
