Pirate Park is a pirate-themed playground in the Northwest (Bethany neighborhood) in Portland, connecting to many paved trails.
Pirate Park is a themed playground that is fun for the child who loves to captain their ship while navigating the high seas. Ahoy Matey! There are slides, plenty of swings (eight of them!), including baby swings. It is a very open space and has beautiful views along connected, paved trails. It is fun to see the giant transmission towers, which connect the power lines, up close.
Directly off of Pirate Park is the Ben Graf Greenway, perfect for a stroller, scooter, or bike. These trails also connect to the Stoller Creek Greenway, Rock Creek Greenway, Bronson Creek Greenway, and Waterhouse Linear Park. This is the perfect park to run on the nearby paved trails with a jogging stroller and then reward your young kids with a trip to Pirate Park afterward!
This is a popular park and can be busy even on a weekday, although there is plenty of street parking on NW Graf Street. There is no parking lot. There is not much shade, so plan your sun-blocking attire accordingly for a sunny day. There is also no bathroom or picnic tables. So, plan to go potty and have a snack before you head out there. There are also not many non-chain options to eat around the area. But, there is the Bethany Library nearby that is part of the Washington County library system. You are also near the famous Forest Park for more, well, forested (and shady) trails.
