Spring Garden Park Playground is a new, beautiful playground that is great for climbing and has a summer water feature and splash pad.

Spring Garden Park is a beautiful, newer playground near Multnomah Village in Southwest Portland. The splash pad and water play feature is busier in the summer, especially on weekends. So bring those water toys to come to play in the summer. Or, in the winter, bring chalk to draw on the splash pad. The water feature is seasonal and is from mid-June through Labor Day.

There is not much shade; only one picnic table is covered. There are lots of benches throughout the park, and at the playground area, there are several picnic tables uncovered. There are garbage cans and a recycling can. There is a bathroom. There are drinking fountains. The park is 4.56 acres and has seasonal spring blooms. There is a short, paved trail on the hillside that is stroller-friendly but probably too steep for scooter or bike riding.

The view is beautiful from the playground at the top of the hill. If you don't want to hike up the hill from SW Spring Garden Street, park on SW Dolph Court instead. Google maps will lead you to SW Spring Garden Street. The coolest part of this park is the giant logs your kid can climb, extensive climbing features for your little monkey, and an art installation, The Nest. It is a giant nest that you can climb inside (not on) after you have a fun time at the Spring Garden Park playground, head over to nearby Multnomah Village, and grab a pick-me-up at Village Coffee. Feeling generous? There is a lovely local toy shop called Thinker Toys. The toy shop is 3,500 square feet and has over 15,000 items. There is parking lot or street parking for Multnomah Village on SW Capitol Hwy.
