Puffy Cream Donuts is a strip mall donut shop far from strip mall taste!

I have heard so many good reviews about this place, so we finally decided to try it for ourselves. Walking in for the first time, I was surprised. It's a no-frills shop. Once we tasted our donuts, however, I understood why this place has such a great reputation. The taste of the donuts is incredible! 

When you purchase a box, the staff always throws in donut holes - but not your typical donut holes. They are light, crispy, and fluffy like a raised glazed donut, not a cake donut. They were the best donut holes I have ever tried. The apple fritters are the size of my child's head, the biggest I have ever seen. Everyone will find something they like here. Most of the donuts are huge and fluffy, just as the name implies, with a lot of cream to be found inside. 

This is a small, family-owned shop. I love supporting small businesses. The work and dedication this family put into the business shows. The staff is always so nice and helpful when we stop in. They are also patient with my kids (who take forever to decide which donuts to try). Coming here is definitely worth the drive no matter where in the Twin Cities you live.

After grabbing a box of donuts, I recommend that you head over to Central Park and let the kids run in the splash pad in the summer. Alternatively, during the winter you could head inside and climb out the sugar high at The Blast Indoor Playground.
