Rendezvous Park (R Park) is a local's paradise with a shallow lake, beachfront, and sledding hill.
Hike, swim, fish, bike, climb, explore or go sledding!
Rendevous Park (R Park) was a 14-acre gravel pit – and almost became private condominiums – but is now the home of Jackson's hidden gem. Rendezvous Park, referred to most often as R Park, is this beautiful mass of land that is the pure manifestation of one community’s ability to come together for something that they love. With the help of nearly every organization and indignant townsperson that felt robbed by the idea of more privatization, the 14-acre gravel pit was bought out and built into the natural, kid-friendly space that it is today.
Outdoor fun abounds here. With five large knolls, three lakes, a sandy shore, grassy fields, and a bike path that leads to the Snake River levee, there are endless places to explore no matter what age. The lakes offer a safe space for swimming, fishing, operating nonmotorized watercraft, and lounging in the summertime. The knolls offer winter sledding for all ages with a variety of gradients. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are also popular seasonally.
Dogs have been permitted only along the Snake River Levee, along the community pathways, and in the parking lot and turn-around area. There are new restrooms (open seasonally) near the parking area. Equidistant from Jackson and Teton Village, the nearest bus stop is Stilson, and it can be accessed from the R Park entrance or via the bike path through Emily Stevens Park or the dike.
