This park has your summer fun planned out for the day.
Located east of downtown Winston-Salem, Reynolds park offers a playground, pool, recreation center, greenway access, athletic courts, and picnic shelters. There are two locations from which you can access Reynolds Park both on Reynolds Park Drive. The first access as you head East on the drive is a small area with a restroom, a new (in construction currently) playground, a couple of picnic shelters, and access to the Salem Creek Greenway. This greenway will take you all the way to Washington Park, and the greenway totals 5.12 miles in length one way. This greenway is a perfect outing for a family bike ride, run, or scootering.
The next access to the park is less than half a mile down on Reynolds Park Drive. This area has a playground, pool, tennis courts, and a recreation center. The small playground is suited for kids between 5 and 8 years old. There is a small play structure with a slide, climbing area, and monkey bars. There is a swing set with two baby swings and two traditional swings. This would be a good area to play in between activities.
The splash ground is right next to the playground area and popular with children 10 and under. The splash pad at Reynolds Park features two separate water shooters, a tall archway with a tipping bucket, a large four-prong pole with buckets that dump, several spray geysers that shoot from ground level, a fun waterfall structure that smaller kids can sit behind, and even more water spouts for exploring. Kids love splash pads, and this one is no exception. There is no shade on either the playground or splash pad, but there is a covered picnic shelter nearby. Bring sunscreen and water during those warm summer months. The water area is open from April 1st through October 31st.
The pool was closed when we passed by during the off-season. Locals regularly enjoy this pool during pool season.
This is a great park to access the greenway or enjoy the pool and playground.
