Riverside Park hits all the marks with play equipment for all ages, river views, bathrooms, and plenty of open space.

Riverside Park is located in downtime Salida, Co on Sackett Street. Kids of all ages will find something to enjoy. A climbing wall faces the river and offers climbing options for kids of all ages. A large swing set has plenty of regular swings, baby swings, and one all-inclusive swing. You'll also find two very fun "raft" themed swings.

Several climbing structures also beckon kids of all ages and skills. A little treehouse has both a ladder and slide to get up and a fun slide to get down. It also provides some much-needed shade. The larger climbing structure has a variety of sides and climbing features. The kid's favorite was the beaver-themed log hop. You'll also find a rock in the center of the climbing structure that allows you to get from one part to the other and gives the playground a real Colorado feel.

Perhaps the best feature though are the two unisex bathrooms in the neighboring community center. They are seemingly always open and clean.

The park has a bandstand that often hosts concerts in warmer months and a bouldering wall that is fun for kids and adults. It goes down to the river, so it's fun to bring a picnic and watch kayakers pass by. People also float this section of the river in tubes, and that is also super fun to watch. There are plenty of picnic tables and there is lots of space to run around.

Stop at Amica's Pizza to pick up your picnic before heading to the park or stop at Kaleidoscope Toys to grab something new to play with while you're at the park. We also enjoy eating on the river-view patio of the Boathouse Cantina, located across the street from the park. You could also bring a milkshake with you from Salida Pharmacy & Fountain

Parking is plentiful in the free public lot just over the bridge.
