A legendary family-friendly restaurant in Lincoln Park, RJ Grunts appeals to every age group!

RJ Grunts is a super kid-friendly, old-timey restaurant across from the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's been around since the 70s and has maintained that vibe through its decor and music. There are pictures of all the waiters who have worked there over the decades all over the restaurant. The restaurant is known for its all-American menu with tasty burgers, delicious sandwiches and wraps, and hand-spun shakes and malts. 

The restaurant is situated at the heart of Lincoln Park, across from the Lincoln Park Zoo and a cute playground. So you can weave this restaurant stop into a fun day out at the zoo and park. Park your stroller outside where they will lock it up for you. If it's the weekend, this place can get crowded so make sure to reserve by 11:00 AM for lunch.  During the week, it's easy to get a table anytime.

There is a salad bar here with plenty of options, which is a great option for hungry kids. Not only can you get them food right away, but the salad bar offers some healthy, kid-friendly options. There is also a kids' menu, which comes with an animal cracker side snack, crayons, and coloring paper.

Parents will love the fun cocktail options and the solid menu. You will love the stroller parking and close proximity to the Lincoln Park Zoo. 

Keep in mind that because of the location, parking nearby isn't always easy on weekends. Either be prepared to walk a bit, come during the week, or take public transportation. There are buses that come here, but the El stop options are both a 15-minute walk.
