Located a short 25-minute drive East of Asheville in Montreat, Robert Lake Park is one of the best playgrounds in the area.  

The playground includes two large playsets and smaller toddler one, swings, covered and shaded picnic tables, and a beautifully designed creek with multiple and easy kid access points flows throughout. This is one of those parks your kids will be happy to play at for hours, and you'll be happy to relax on a bench at the creek and watch them enjoy themselves. Every time we have gone it has never been busy, and a few times we have even had the entire park to ourselves!

The drive into Montreat is just as beautiful as the park itself. Once you drive through the stone entrance keep an eye out for the athletic fields on your right. Right past these you'll see the park through the trees. Take a right on the next street and park in the large paved lot on your left. From here the boardwalk to the park is on the right side of the building across from the parking lot. While there are no designated park restrooms there are a few public restrooms available in Montreat.
